Blast Onepiece is a Japanese-bred bay stallion foaled on 2 April 2015, bred by Northern Farm and raced in the colours of Silk Racing Co. Ltd. Trained at Miho by Masahiro Otake, he emerged as one of the standout colts of his generation in the late 2010s. A son of Harbinger out of Tsurumaru Onepiece, by King Kamehameha, he carried a pedigree that blended an important international sire line with a strong Japanese female family.
He was campaigned as a high-profile syndicated runner for Silk Racing, offered in 500 shares at ¥40,000 apiece, and he more than justified that backing on the track. Across his career he compiled a record of 18 starts for 7 wins, with total earnings reported at more than ¥589 million in JRA prize-money. Contemporary accounts also noted that he was an unusually large Thoroughbred, appearing at the races at weights between roughly 520 and 550 kilograms, which added to his physical presence.
Blast Onepiece's defining season came in 2018. That year he won the Mainichi Hai and the Niigata Kinen before delivering the performance that secured his place in Japanese racing history: victory in the Arima Kinen, the year-end Grand Prix and one of the country's most prestigious races. Winning the Arima Kinen as a three-year-old gave his campaign exceptional weight, and it helped earn him the JRA Award for Best Three-Year-Old Colt for 2018.
He remained a notable name after that championship season, adding further major victories in the 2019 Sapporo Kinen and the 2020 American Jockey Club Cup. Those wins showed that he was not merely a horse of one brilliant year, but a top-level performer who stayed relevant in open company beyond his classic season. During his racing career he was regularly associated with jockey Kenichi Ikezoe.
In retirement, Blast Onepiece stands as a high-class representative of Harbinger in Japan and as one of Silk Racing's important modern homebred-style stars, despite being owned through syndication. His Arima Kinen triumph and year-end championship remain the central achievements of his legacy, while his family also includes siblings such as Ho O Peaceful, I'm In, and Ropa Chic.
