Curren Bouquetd'or’s record was defined not by a long list of wins, but by how frequently she reached the placings. She finished among the first three in 12 of her 17 starts, with seven seconds and three thirds accompanying her two victories. That balance made her a particularly consistent placer during the late 2010s and early 2020s.

Her racing career began in 2018 and continued through 2021. The most consequential phase came during 2019, when she progressed from Listed success over 1,800 metres to a runner-up finish in one of Japan’s foremost international Group 1 races over 2,400 metres. Those performances demonstrated a range extending from the shorter end of the middle-distance spectrum to a classic mile and a half.

Seven months after the Sweet Pea Stakes, Curren Bouquetd'or produced the outstanding result of her career when finishing second in the Japan Cup at Tokyo on 24 November 2019. The Group 1 contest was run over 2,400 metres on turf, 600 metres farther than her principal victory.

That performance became the central achievement of her racing record. It showed that the form displayed over 1,800 metres could be carried into elite competition at 2,400 metres, while the Japan Cup’s Group 1 status gave the placing considerably greater weight than her bare total of two wins might suggest.

The contrast between her Sweet Pea Stakes victory and Japan Cup second also encapsulated her career. She could win at Listed level, but much of her reputation was formed by repeatedly coming close in stronger company. Her Japan Cup placing was the most prominent example of that pattern and helped underpin career earnings of more than ¥458 million.
