Wonder Acute (ワンダーアキュート), often called Acute, is a patient and caring Senior Division Uma Musume whose gentle pace conceals extraordinary persistence. Relaxed but never resigned, she is memorable for steadily pressing onward—especially on her preferred dirt surface—and simply refusing to give up.
Her old-fashioned warmth comes through in the smallest details. Acute calls herself Atashi and addresses her mentor as Trainer-san; she is skilled at delicate beadwork and decorative radish cutting, yet finds trendy foreign terminology and high-tech devices distinctly less agreeable. The contrast gives her a charmingly timeless air: meticulous hands, enduring spirit, and little enthusiasm for whatever new gadget has just arrived.
A resident of Ritto Dorm, she rooms with Transcend. She is also closely associated with dirt rivals Copano Rickey and Hokko Tarumae, while Buena Vista, Nakayama Festa, and Victoire Pisa appear among her broader connections. Acute stands 159 cm tall, with measurements of B75-W52-H78 and a shoe size of 24.5 cm on both feet; her recorded weight is, intriguingly, “Unstable.”
Her birthday is March 14, and she is voiced by Kanoko Sudo. In the game, her original three-star version is titled Butterfly Sting, released in Japan on November 17, 2022; she also has the three-star Soft Light, Hot Spring Scent (柔灯・湯の香の装い), released in Japan on November 10, 2025. Her solo song is “Yuyukankan.”

At a glance
Foaled in Japan on 14 March 2006, Wonder Acute was bred by Fukuda Farm. He was by Charismatic, the son of Summer Squall, and out of Wonder Heritage, a daughter of Pleasant Tap.
The sire line gave him a direct connection to Charismatic, while Pleasant Tap provided another prominent American influence on the dam’s side. Wonder Acute carried that pedigree into a career conducted within Japan’s mixed dirt-racing structure, competing under both the Japan Racing Association and the National Association of Racing.
He raced for Nobuyuki Yamamoto, whose name is also rendered in abbreviated form as N. Yamamoto, and was trained by Masao Sato at Ritto. Ryuji Wada and Yutaka Take were among the jockeys associated with him during his career.
Wonder Acute’s first major breakthrough came during his three-year-old season in 2009. He won both the Sirius Stakes and the Musashino Stakes, establishing himself as a significant dirt performer at an early stage of his career.
Those two races also demonstrated his effectiveness in different parts of Japan’s central racing programme. The Sirius Stakes supplied the first major entry on his résumé, while the Musashino Stakes confirmed that the success was not isolated. Together they formed the foundation of a career that would ultimately span 48 starts and continue at the highest level well beyond the usual age of a three-year-old campaign.
After his pair of important victories in 2009, Wonder Acute’s next listed major success came in the 2011 Tokai Stakes. The two-year interval between those headline wins is significant within the broader shape of his record: rather than being remembered only as a precocious three-year-old, he returned as a major winner at five.
That Tokai Stakes victory began a sequence in which he recorded at least one major win in five consecutive years, from 2011 through 2015. It was the clearest indication that his early promise had developed into sustained durability.
The defining victory of Wonder Acute’s six-year-old season was the 2012 JBC Classic. It represented a step beyond the major stakes successes that had preceded it and became one of the central achievements of his career.
The JBC Classic also placed Wonder Acute’s ability to compete across Japan’s racing jurisdictions in sharp relief. His career earnings were divided almost evenly between the JRA and NAR: ¥473.70 million came from JRA competition and ¥402.61 million from NAR racing. That balance reflects how central both systems were to his long career rather than presenting one as a secondary arena.
Wonder Acute remained a major-race winner at seven, taking the 2013 Nippon TV Hai. Coming after the JBC Classic, the victory extended his sequence of high-level success and showed that he had retained his competitiveness into another season.
At eight, he added the 2014 Teio Sho. This was another of the defining races on his record, both for its importance and for the age at which he won it. By then, five years had passed since his Sirius Stakes and Musashino Stakes victories. The span between those early successes and the Teio Sho made longevity one of the distinguishing features of his career.
Wonder Acute’s last listed major victory came in the 2015 Kashiwa Kinen, when he was nine years old. It completed an exceptional run of major wins across seven seasons, from 2009 to 2015.
The Kashiwa Kinen mattered not merely as another addition to his record, but as the final point in a long progression: major winner at three, Tokai Stakes winner at five, JBC Classic winner at six, and still capable of securing important races at seven, eight and nine. Few details express his durability more clearly than that sequence.
The Sirius Stakes gave Wonder Acute his first listed major success, and the Musashino Stakes reinforced it within the same season. Winning both as a three-year-old immediately established the basis of his reputation and ensured that his juvenile phase as a top dirt horse was supported by more than one notable result.
These races also serve as the starting point for measuring the length of his career at the top. Six years separated the double of 2009 from his Kashiwa Kinen victory in 2015.
The JBC Classic stands at the centre of Wonder Acute’s résumé. Arriving after his Tokai Stakes victory, it marked the high point of his six-year-old campaign and confirmed that his return to major-winning form in 2011 had led to an even more important success the following season.
It also helped define the cross-jurisdictional character of his career. Wonder Acute accumulated hundreds of millions of yen under both JRA and NAR auspices, and the JBC Classic was a major part of that broader dirt-racing record.
By the time of the Teio Sho, Wonder Acute was an eight-year-old veteran with major victories stretching back to 2009. Winning the race extended his major-race sequence to a fourth consecutive season and gave his late career one of its signature achievements.
The result placed the emphasis not just on survival or continued participation, but on continued winning. Wonder Acute was still adding important races to his record five seasons after his initial breakthrough.
The Kashiwa Kinen provided the closing landmark of his racing career. Won at nine, it lengthened his run of seasons with a major victory to five in succession and his overall span as a major winner to seven seasons.
As the last major win on his record, it forms a fitting endpoint to the competitive arc that began in 2009. His résumé did not peak once and fade; it developed through successive stages, with important victories arriving deep into maturity.
Wonder Acute finished in the first three in 31 of his 48 starts. His 13 victories were accompanied by 10 runner-up finishes and eight thirds, giving his record considerable depth beyond the seven major wins that define its headline achievements.
His earnings also illustrate the scale and breadth of the campaign. The JRA and NAR portions combine to approximately ¥876.31 million, while the recorded career total is ¥876,630,600. More importantly, neither jurisdiction dominated the financial record: his success was distributed across both principal branches of Japanese racing.
Wonder Acute retired with a record shaped above all by longevity. His major victories began with two wins at three and continued through the Kashiwa Kinen at nine. Between them came the Tokai Stakes, JBC Classic, Nippon TV Hai and Teio Sho, creating a chronological résumé rather than a brief concentration of peak form.
That durability is reinforced by both his 48-start record and the distribution of his prize-money. He was not confined to one stage of life, one racing authority or one short period of dominance. His legacy rests on repeated high-level dirt success across seven seasons, capped by major victories at eight and nine—an unusually enduring career arc for a horse who had already announced himself with two important wins as a three-year-old.
